Rabbit Hill Classic Candles
Welcome to their first line of designer candles, The Classic Collection. This inaugural collection is inspired by patterns and colors found all throughout traditional interior design. Included below is a little history about these beautiful patterns and details about what makes them so iconic.
Palm: A fragrant sea salt breeze opens up to share a hint of mandarin and hyacinth bloom, finally settling into the pleasant aroma of teakwood and resinous oud. Palm is undeniably our beachy, surfside candle. Detailed Fragrance Notes:
Top: Sea Salt, Marine Minerals, Powder
Middle: Mandarin, Hyacinth, Rum
Bottom: Sandalwood, Oud
The palm pattern, a classic look since the midcentury, is the ultimate nod to a leisure aesthetic. Banana leaves, like the ones on our label, are familiar yet still exotic, perfect for representing our vacation-inspired beach candle.
Toile: Romantic florals combine with deep sandalwood and fresh bunches of earthy vetiver to create a beautiful and complex fragrance. Toile is our most floral-forward and boldly romantic candle in the collection. Detailed Fragrance Notes:
Top: Lily of the Valley, Geranium, Amber
Middle: Rose, Fresh Greens, Peonies
Bottom: Sandalwood, Vetiver, Musk
Toile (also referred to as “Toile de Jouy") was the perfect pattern to represent romantic, earthy florals. The complex scenes depicted in toile patterns almost always represent people or animals enjoying the outdoors and what is there to enjoy more than beautiful, fresh flowers?!
Greek Key: Rich black cardamom is combined with warm amber, luxurious myrrh, and freshly burnt cedar to create an intoxicating aroma. Key is our most stately and deeply complex candle. Detailed Fragrance Notes:
Top: Black Cardamom, Ivy
Middle: Santal, Amber, Leather
Bottom: Cedar, Myrrh, Musk
The ever-classic key pattern hails from Ancient Greece and can be found on everything from centuries-old architectural ruins to modern day wedding bands. The continuous fretwork pattern symbolizes eternity and I thought it paired well with scents that point to rich and long histories.
Oxford: Newly-laundered bed linens combined with a fresh outdoor breeze best describe this delightful, pure fragrance. Oxford is the most clean and crisp candle in the collection. Detailed Fragrance Notes:
Top: Cotton, White Tea, Hyacinth
Middle: Lemon, Jasmine, Sandalwood
Bottom: Ozanic Notes, Minerals, Cedar
Blue and white patterns were my mothers very favorite and she had no shortage of OCBD (Oxford Cotton Button Down) shirts in her closet. The Oxford stripe shirt has been a staple in preppy, upscale clothing since the early 19th century. The classic pattern has seen many iterations over the years and is now often found in traditional home decor fabrics like bed linens and window treatments. Because Oxford stripes are typically associated with fabric, we thought it best represented our clean and fresh smelling candle.
